Art Festival 2008

You are invited to apply to become one of only 200 fine art/fine craft artists that will be selected to participate in the inaugural Pinnacle Hills Promenade Art Festival, which is scheduled to take place Friday, September 5th through Sunday, September 7th 2008 in Rogers, Arkansas.

Venue

Pinnacle Hills Promenade is a 980,000 square foot open-air center that opened in the Fall 2006. Anchor tenants include a 155,000 square foot Dillard's, a 43,000 square foot 12-screen Malco Theatre and a 98,000 square foot JCPenney.

Featured Restaurants include: P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Fish City Grill, and Mimi’s Café. Sullivan's Steakhouse will open Fall 2007.

Featured Merchants include: a 23,000 square foot Borders, and 250,000 square feet of "big box" retail village shopping, 275,000 square feet of specialty shops (regional and national retailers) and 80,000 square feet of Class A office space.

Attendance

• We anticipate 30,000+ visitors at the festival, with middle to high income, consisting not only of existing collectors, but also museum and gallery goers interested in original, affordable, high quality fine art and fine craft.

• The Festival will be designed to appeal to both novices and experienced collectors, in addition to families seeking an interactive, educational and fun arts environment for themselves and their friends and family.

Marketing & Promotions

The Event marketing, advertising, and promotions will reach and gain attendance among local and regional art buyers and enthusiasts through:

  • In-mall signage and advertising up to four months prior to the event
  • Advertising – including regional newspapers, regional consumer & trade magazines/publications across NWA and surrounding areas
  • Extensive regional public relations coverage
  • Festival Invitations sent to extensive and comprehensive regional emailing lists
  • Festival Posters featuring general event information and sponsor listings distributed to merchants and galleries across NWA
  • Festival website and online event listings.

Amenities

The Festival provides artists with:

  • Secured, vehicle-restricted display areas for Artist displays along Tower Avenue and Park Place, as shown on the map below.
  • 24-hour traffic control and security beginning with set-up times through tear-down.
  • Modern and upscale public facilities such as inside restrooms, an indoor food pavilion with plentiful seating, ample parking for visitors and artists’ vehicles and trailers, wifi Internet access and much more.
  • Basic 110 volt Electrical Service to each booth space for lighting and illumination is provided.

Event Rules and Regulations:

  1. Exhibit spaces will number approximately 200 or less.
  2. Spaces will measure 10'x10' and 10'x20'.
  3. Exhibitors must provide their own display and tent.
    • ALL tents must be professional exhibitor tents, weighted on each corner.
    • Usage of an approved tent is required
    • Display surface is asphalt and/or concrete.
    • Limited electricity is included to power booth lighting and illumination.
  4. In order to insure an orderly set-up, each exhibitor will be assigned an arrival/set-up time, beginning at 9pm Thursday, September 4th
  5. All booths must be ready to open to the public at 10 am, Friday, September 5th.
  6. All work must be produced by the artist.
  7. All work must be for sale.
  8. Only exhibitors who have been accepted in the jewelry category may display and sell jewelry.
  9. Display requirements:
    • All spaces must be handicapped accessible.
    • Exhibitors should make arrangements for wind or rain, as this is an open-air venue.
    • The Festival will go on rain or shine.
  10. Indoor public restroom facilities are available in the Pavilion and elsewhere.
  11. All sales are to be handled by the exhibitor including obtaining necessary sales permits and collecting and paying appropriate Arkansas local, county, and state Sales Taxes.
  12. Sales tax forms will be included in the exhibitor packet at check-in.
  13. Information such as directions, accommodations and other pertinent information will be made available on the festival web site and at www.eurekaspringsartists.com.
  14. All rules of the festival will be strictly enforced. Failure to comply may result in exhibitor’s removal from the festival.

Applications/Fees/Deadlines

  1. Application Fee - $25 all applications must include 1 booth shot and 4 images representing work that will be offered for sale at the event.
    • Applications will be accepted on-line or may be mailed to Eureka Springs Artists Registry, 12012 Hwy 187, Eureka Springs, AR 72631
    • Mailed applications must include a self addressed stamped envelope, artist name, address, artist statement, category, and required slide images.
  2. Deadline for applications is August 1, 2008
  3. Booth Fees
    • $200 Eureka Springs Artists Registry members,
    • $250 Non-members
    • Double booth = booth fee x2
    • Corner booth = booth fee + $50
  4. Application and booth fees are non-refundable.
  5. There is a $30 processing fee for all returned checks.
  6. All accepted exhibitors must be present during all hours of the festival. A valid driver's license and/or photo ID will be required at check-in.
  7. No animals except guide dogs for the hearing and visually impaired, will be permitted in the exhibition area.
  8. AN ARTISTS STATEMENT MUST ACCOMPANY EACH APPLICATION.

Jurying

Due to the relatively short time we have to plan our festival, the jurors will meet bi-weekly and artists will be informed of their acceptance immediately!

  1. Jurors will be selected by the Promoters and may include celebrities, sponsors, artists and craftspersons notable in their respective fields.
  2. Juror's scores are predicated on creativity, originality, design, technique and presentation.
  3. Applicants score is based on his/her images that should show an exact presentation of the artists' work.
  4. The decision of the jurors is final.
