Having worked with terminally ill patients in Hospice, Melodye's work is driven by the passion to create images from that experience. Each piece of art represents a patient and a rendition of their favorite memory. As you gaze into the possibilities of what each memory might be, it becomes clear to the viewer of what it means to be alive and to appreciate the beauty of our world. Fragile, limited, beautiful moments are captured for others to reflect upon. Melodye uses a complex digital painting technique. Meticulously, she uses a digital wand and tablet to create each stroke. Her images are reminders of everyday beauties that we fail to stop and appreciate. As a memorial to each patient, she forces you to stop and live every moment thru the eyes of those whose moments were about to end. A portion of the proceeds from her work is donated to Hospice programs in the Northwest Arkansas Region.
